Job Title: ESG Data Analyst
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid work environment)
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:
The ESG Data Analyst will play a vital role in Ethos’ mission by helping manage and analyze ESG data, ensuring that it is reliable, up-to-date, and insightful for customers. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, ingesting, and analyzing ESG and impact-related data for thousands of companies, funds, and client portfolios. You will also contribute to developing analytical models, refining ratings methodology, and expanding the data product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Data Sources: Identify new potential ESG data sources from government data, independent organizations, and other relevant channels.
- Data Integration & Management: Help manage the ingestion and integration of raw data from multiple sources, ensuring the data is clean, accurate, and up-to-date.
- Data Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality and recency of data, ensuring continuous updates from available data sources.
- Analytical Models: Assist in developing new analytical models that make data meaningful for customers, including creating new portfolio metrics.
- Methodology Refinement: Provide input on refining ESG ratings and methodology based on customer feedback, partners, and market research.
- Data Coverage Expansion: Contribute to expanding coverage of securities, such as adding new data from SEC filings and developing methodologies for rating private companies and government bonds.
- Data Product Development: Help further develop and expand the data product, including enhancing the usage of the data API.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-3 years in a data-related role, ideally with experience in financial or ESG data.
- Skills: Strong ability to model detailed data and extract insights from it. Experience working with large datasets and making them actionable.
- Interest in ESG: A passion for or interest in ESG or sustainable finance is preferred.
- Work Ethic: A focus on quality and excellence in all aspects of work, with attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with data ingestion, cleaning, and integration processes. Knowledge of data modeling and analytical techniques.
