Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams responsible for mission-critical systems within our crypto platform and internal enterprise applications. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservices, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of crypto exchanges, financial technologies, and full-stack application development. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation at the intersection of crypto finance and internal operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Manage and mentor engineering teams building critical trading systems (matching engines, risk management, order systems) while ensuring internal tools for customer service teams (e.g., agent productivity tools) are scalable and efficient.
• Collaborate on Architecture: Partner with product, design, and security teams to define architecture and ensure robust, scalable, and secure systems are built to meet evolving business needs.
• Drive Product Innovation: Oversee the development of new features and services that improve user experience and internal productivity through full-stack development, integrations with third-party SaaS, and automation.
• Hands-On Leadership: Lead by example, contributing code, reviewing pull requests, and engaging with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Team Building & Growth: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, driving recruitment and team cohesion. Focus on talent development and scaling engineering teams for rapid growth.
• Technical Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute strategies for building and maintaining scalable, low-latency systems in the crypto exchange space while ensuring seamless internal processes.
• Optimize Operational Efficiency: Focus on improving internal tools to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, leveraging automation and modern web technologies.

What You’ll Bring:

• Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of engineering management experience, including managing teams of 5+ engineers and leading complex projects at scale.
• Tech Proficiency: Strong experience with web application development (React, Go, TypeScript), microservices, cloud (AWS, Kubernetes), and distributed systems.
• Domain Knowledge: Experience in crypto or financial trading systems, including exchanges, matching engines, and risk engines. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for global financial systems is a plus.
• Cross-Functional Expertise: Ability to collaborate with product, design, and security teams to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Scalability Focus: Proven experience designing and scaling systems that can handle high throughput, low-latency operations, and complex integrations.
• Culture Fit: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Nice to Have:

• Third-Party Integrations: Experience with SaaS integrations, particularly in customer support, compliance, or trading platforms.
• Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with Kafka, MongoDB, Snowflake, or similar systems; experience with AI/ChatGPT integrations or financial SaaS platforms.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience in architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Languages: Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Python or Ruby.
