About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Security Platform Engineering team. You will work on building capabilities and solutions for critical security use cases. This includes developing solutions for onchain security, web3 monitoring capabilities, and associated services to protect Coinbase and its customers. As part of the security team, you’ll play a key role in designing and maintaining the platforms that safeguard the platform's security, compliance, and privacy.

What You’ll Do

• Develop new services using Golang to address critical product and business needs.
• Design and scale systems to solve unique problems with modern cloud technology and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to transform technical and product visions into actionable roadmaps.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
• Contribute to building innovative solutions that secure Coinbase’s infrastructure and protect user data.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
• Expertise in service-oriented architecture and building systems at scale.
• Passion for building an open financial system that connects the world.
• Strong coding and software design skills, with a focus on writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code.

Nice to Haves

• Experience working in a fast-growing company (from startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
• Experience decomposing large monolithic systems into microservices.
• Proficiency with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Background in building financial, high-reliability security systems.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: $149,500 CAD annually
