About the Role:

Udemy is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team. You will work on both frontend and backend technologies to develop and maintain services and products that help users learn and grow their skills. As a part of Udemy’s dynamic team, you will be responsible for problem-solving, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing systems to meet the company’s objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Implement services using Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis/Elasticache, GraphQL, Kubernetes, ReactJS, and Typescript.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain critical services using tools like Datadog and FireHydrant Signals.
• Build user interfaces that meet accessibility standards.
• Lead and coordinate moderately complex projects.
• Apply problem-solving and systems thinking to ensure smooth product feature execution.
• Collaborate across teams and manage complexity within your own team.

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and frontend technologies like ReactJS and Typescript.
• Familiarity with domain-driven design and event-driven development.
• Experience working with analytical problem solving and cross-functional communication.
• Fluent in English.
