Job Overview:

Discord is seeking an experienced Account Executive - Media & Entertainment to join our newly formed Advertising Solutions team. As part of the Quests business line, this role will focus on building relationships within the entertainment industry, specifically targeting film studios, streaming platforms, and television networks. The role will involve identifying client needs, creating tailored proposals, and developing marketing strategies to help these clients reach their most dedicated audiences on Discord.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy & Client Relationship Management:

• Identify Client Needs: Work closely with clients in the entertainment industry to understand their marketing objectives and deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs.
• Develop Sales Strategies: Apply an account planning process to prioritize accounts, drive revenue, educate clients, and lead strategic conversations.
• Create Sales Presentations: Develop compelling sales proposals using both internal and external data to highlight Discord’s value.
• Consult with Clients: Contribute to marketing and media plans that leverage Discord’s platform to reach target audiences effectively.

2. Prospecting & Account Growth:

• Media Buying Opportunities: Prospect for media buying opportunities within film studios, streaming platforms, television networks, and agencies.
• Client Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the entertainment industry.
• Negotiate & Close Deals: Negotiate and structure ad-buying agreements, working towards meeting and exceeding revenue and account goals.

3. Campaign Analysis & Problem-Solving:

• Campaign Performance: Analyze data to assess campaign performance and make recommendations to improve results.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Proactively address client issues and provide quick, effective solutions, involving the proper escalation channels when needed.

Requirements:

Experience & Skills:

• Experience:
• 6+ years of experience in direct ad sales, media buying, or digital advertising, with a specific focus on the entertainment industry.
• Proven success in meeting or exceeding account and revenue goals.
• Client Management:
• Experience managing entertainment clients through the sales funnel, understanding their challenges and marketing objectives.
• Relationship Building:
• Established relationships with top marketing decision-makers in the entertainment industry and their agencies.
• Data-Driven:
• Ability to analyze campaign performance data and draw actionable insights.
• Problem Solving:
• Skilled at troubleshooting and problem-solving quickly, escalating issues through the proper channels when necessary.
• Ad Technology Expertise:
• Familiarity with the marketing and ad technology ecosystem, including the ability to communicate product needs and collaborate cross-functionally to solve technical issues.
• Negotiation:
• Experience negotiating both standard and non-standard ad-buying agreements.
• Travel:
• Willingness to travel 20-30% of the time as required for the role.

Compensation:

• Base Salary + Commission: $320k - $360k OTE (On-Target Earnings)
• Additional Benefits: Equity + Benefits package
• Note: Compensation is determined by role, level, job-related skills, experience, and education.
