🧾 Job Overview

• Title: Accountant – FCM (Futures Commission Merchant)
• Team: Accounting & Finance
• Location: Remote – U.S. (Must work EST hours)
• Compensation: $108,630–$127,800 USD + Bonus + Equity + Benefits
• Reports to: CFO, Coinbase Financial Markets

📌 Role Focus

Support accounting and regulatory compliance for Coinbase’s registered FCM, including reporting to CFTC, NFA, and handling derivatives-related accounting functions. This is a detail-intensive role with high regulatory responsibility.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely regulatory filings (CFTC, NFA, others)
• Manage monthly close and accounting functions for FCM entity
• Prepare financial statements, support audits
• Monitor liquidity and capital requirements daily
• Execute and monitor internal controls related to compliance and financial operations
• Cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Product, Trading Ops, and Engineering

✅ Must-Have Qualifications

• CPA required, with BA/BS in Accounting or similar
• 3+ years of Big 4 experience or FCM accounting experience
• Deep familiarity with:
• CFTC/NFA rules
• ASC 815 (Derivatives & Hedging)
• 17 CFR 1.20 (Customer fund protections)
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth, and regulatory-heavy environment
• Willingness to work EST hours to meet filing deadlines

➕ Nice to Have

• NFA Series 3 license
• Experience at a public company
• Familiarity with:
• Netsuite, WinJammer, ION XTP, FloQast, G-Suite
• SQL, Python (data-savvy skills)
