About the Role:

Work on Coinbase’s CX Analytics Engineering team, bridging data engineering, data science, and business analytics. You’ll build scalable data models, pipelines, and tools that empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. This role is a hybrid of Data Engineer, Data Scientist, and Business Analyst skills focused on transforming raw data into trusted, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Become an expert in specific business areas and data domains, understanding end-to-end data flows.
• Build and maintain foundational, modular, and reusable data models (star/snowflake schemas).
• Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using tools like dbt or Airflow.
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable analytics solutions and dashboards.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and business teams.
• Design prompt engineering strategies for large language models (LLMs) like GPT to improve internal tools.
• Develop abstractions and frameworks to improve data workflow efficiency.
• Communicate technical insights and business impact clearly to stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in data modeling and advanced SQL.
• Experience with prompt engineering/design for LLMs (GPT etc.).
• Data pipeline development experience with modern tools (dbt, Airflow).
• Familiarity with version control (GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, and data warehouse architecture (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Business acumen to align analytics with organizational goals.

Nice to Have:

• Intermediate to advanced Python programming, including scripting and OOP.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Superset, Python libraries).
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP).
• Statistical and probability knowledge.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $122,000 - $147,000 USD (plus bonus, benefits)
