Role Overview:

The Associate Liquidity Risk Manager will play a key role in managing liquidity risks across Coinbase’s prime brokerage activities. You’ll lead the design and implementation of a liquidity risk framework for financing products, establish risk limits, and monitor outflows to ensure the firm’s institutional products remain resilient. This dynamic and high-impact role will require you to work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Legal, and other teams to address emerging risks, while contributing to stress testing and reporting processes. The role reports to a Director in Financial and Operational Risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and mitigate liquidity risks, particularly related to prime brokerage activities, including trading, financing, custody, and staking.
• Design and implement a robust liquidity risk framework across financing products and set risk limits for different legal entities.
• Monitor liquidity outflows and contingent liabilities within the prime brokerage space.
• Build liquidity models based on historical client behavior and stress scenarios to ensure preparedness.
• Collaborate with product teams early in product design to influence and mitigate risks during development.
• Prepare and present detailed liquidity risk reports to senior management.
• Monitor liquidity concerns, escalate issues promptly, and manage any breaches of established risk limits.
• Recommend and implement appropriate policies and processes to manage current and future liquidity risks.
• Partner with business stakeholders (e.g., product, coverage, operations, legal) to resolve complex challenges and improve processes.

What We Look For:

• 7-10 years of experience in collateral rehypothecation and liquidity risk management, ideally at a global financial institution.
• Significant experience managing liquidity risks within prime brokerage or derivatives products.
• Knowledge of asset liability management across hedge funds, asset managers, and other prime clients.
• Strong quantitative skills and a solid understanding of capital markets products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships, influence decision-making, and navigate relationships at all organizational levels.
• Capable of balancing strategic thinking with effective tactical execution.
• A proactive, independent mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo for better outcomes.

Compensation:

• Target annual salary: £74,250 GBP - £82,500 GBP
