Title: Associate Manager, Compliance

Location: Charlotte, NC (on-site, full-time)

This is a people leadership role within the Global Compliance Operations team, responsible for managing and coaching a team of AML/EDD compliance analysts and executing Coinbase’s BSA/AML program.

🎯 Role Objectives

You’ll lead a team handling:

Transaction monitoring
Enhanced due diligence (EDD)
Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) filings
Supporting Coinbase’s compliance infrastructure as crypto grows globally

You’ll also act as a subject matter expert, helping drive both performance and adherence to regulatory expectations across BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN frameworks.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage a team of 10–15 compliance analysts
Operational Oversight: Track KPIs, manage vendors, monitor SLA performance
Process Improvement: Partner with senior stakeholders to optimize AML controls
Compliance Partnership: Work with second-line Financial Crimes teams and internal legal/compliance
Customer-First Approach: Align operations to customer value without compromising regulatory rigor
Culture & Communication: Champion a proactive “culture of compliance” with clear communication and coaching

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in compliance, AML, fraud, or risk ops
2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
Familiarity with BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN regulatory frameworks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working across multiple software systems
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and make confident decisions in real-time
