Role Overview:

The Compliance team within Customer Experience (CX) plays a critical role in ensuring compliance across Coinbase’s global operations. As the Associate Manager, Compliance, you will lead a team of 10-15 Compliance Analysts focused on transaction monitoring, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR). You will help maintain high standards in compliance operations, ensure the team meets performance and quality KPIs, and drive process improvements to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of 10-15 Compliance Analysts focused on transaction monitoring, EDD, and AML investigations.
• Ensure adherence to operational KPIs, and oversee vendor partner performance.
• Collaborate with senior management to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency.
• Drive team performance by setting goals, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of compliance.
• Communicate effectively with your team and champion change management initiatives.
• Work with Financial Crimes and second-line compliance teams to execute Coinbase’s AML program.
• Lead by example in cultivating a customer-centric mindset in compliance decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in the Compliance field.
• 2-3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Solid understanding of financial regulations (BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance).
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Compliance certifications such as ACAMS.
• Familiarity with the Coinbase suite of products.
• Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Lean 6S).
• Advanced proficiency in Google apps.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Target Salary: $117,385 USD/year
• Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)) and additional bonuses and equity grants.
