About the Role:

Binance is hiring a Backend Engineer to help build and optimize its Instant Messaging (IM) system. This role focuses on designing high-performance backend infrastructure to support scalable, reliable, and secure chat functionalities used by millions of users globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new IM features ensuring high performance and scalability
• Build microservices using Spring Cloud for service discovery, config management, and load balancing
• Handle big data processing, data storage, and retrieval optimization
• Tune system performance and troubleshoot live incidents
• Refactor legacy code for better maintainability and scalability

Requirements:

• Experience developing IM tools like QQ, WeChat, Telegram, WhatsApp, or Slack
• Strong knowledge of Linux, microservices, Redis sharding, Kafka, MQ, and distributed systems
• Proven track record in designing and launching a high-availability backend system
• Deep understanding of database internals, indexing, partitioning, and tuning
