About the Role

As a Backend Operations Support Engineer on the Card team, you will play a key role in supporting Crypto.com's production systems, especially in payment card operations. You'll collaborate with development, operations, and customer support teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance system reliability, and optimize operational efficiency. This is a hands-on technical support role with a strong focus on production issue resolution, monitoring, and DevOps collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Development & Testing

• Analyze system requirements and contribute to backend development.
• Write and maintain integration and end-to-end tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional operations teams to improve process efficiency.

Customer Support & Problem Resolution

• Serve as the primary technical contact for Crypto.com Card issues in production.
• Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Partner with CS teams to address customer concerns and elevate user satisfaction.
• Translate recurring issues into actionable business requirements for engineering teams.

System Reliability & Maintenance

• Collaborate with SRE teams to implement monitoring and alerting frameworks.
• Identify system bottlenecks and propose optimization strategies.
• Lead incident response efforts during system outages, coordinating across engineering and infra teams.

Work Hours

• Must be available for rotating day/night shifts to support global operations across Asia and North America time zones.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Experience or understanding of the payment card domain.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools, especially AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Linux-based environments and common support toolchains.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as Datadog, Sumologic, OpenTelemetry.
• Experience working with GitOps and ArgoCD is a plus.
• Basic scripting or development skills in Shell, Ruby, Golang, or SQL.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate and resolve problems quickly.
• Effective communicator, fluent in English and Mandarin (Cantonese is a plus).
• Able to multitask and work across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, with a "can-do" attitude and strong ownership of responsibilities.
