Role Summary

The Blockchain Investigation Specialist is a critical role within the Internal Audit team. This person will lead forensic blockchain investigations, detect internal fraud or misconduct, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support compliance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct blockchain forensics: Analyze transactions to uncover suspicious or illicit activities, including internal fraud.
• Fraud detection & prevention: Investigate possible insider trading, misuse of internal systems, and unauthorized digital asset activity.
• Use blockchain analytics tools: Track wallet activity, smart contract interactions, and token transfers using tools like Chainalysis, CipherTrace, Elliptic, or TRM Labs.
• Incident response & whistleblowing: Manage sensitive whistleblower reports related to blockchain and ensure integrity in investigation handling.
• Cross-team collaboration: Partner with Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and IT Security to ensure findings translate into actionable risk mitigation.
• Reporting: Prepare clear, detailed reports for senior leadership and regulators, outlining findings and recommendations.
• Continuous improvement: Stay ahead of crypto fraud trends, DeFi exploits, and blockchain security developments.
