Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack, and we are joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it remains a public good available to everyone.

About the Role

The Builder Regional Manager, Europe will be responsible for driving Base’s adoption and growth in Europe. You will manage a team of Country Leads in your region, incubate and grow the Base community, and execute builder go-to-market strategies and programs. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the European market and ensure the success of Base's expansion efforts.

Location options include the UK, Germany, or France.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and lead a team of Country Leads across Europe.
• Ambassadorship: Serve as the primary ambassador for Base in your home country.
• Community Growth: Incubate and grow the European Base community through grassroots efforts and relationship-building.
• Growth Initiatives: Design and execute scrappy growth initiatives to onboard developers and users.
• Builder GTM Strategies: Develop and implement strategies and programs such as buildathons, launchpads, and fellowships to drive adoption.
• Mentorship & Funding: Support builders through mentorship and curating opportunities for grant funding.
• Partnerships: Identify and foster relationships with apps, accelerators, VCs, and distribution partners.
• Feedback & Insights: Share market intelligence, community feedback, and product insights with the wider Base team.

What We Look for in You

Must-Haves

• Operational Experience: Experience in a crypto startup/project (as a founder, early employee, or community/growth leader).
• Market Understanding: Deep understanding of the European crypto, startup, and developer market.
• Self-Starter: A relentless, solutions-oriented individual with a proactive approach.
• Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Outstanding ability to engage with people and communicate effectively.
• Passion for Onchain Economy: A drive to build and scale the global onchain ecosystem.
• Team Management: Experience managing high-performing teams.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in at least two European languages.

Nice-to-Haves

• Community Project Scaling: Experience creating and scaling community-driven projects.
• Developer Campaigns: Experience running go-to-market and activation campaigns targeted at developers.
• Startup Programs: Experience setting up and managing startup programs such as accelerators or incubators.
• Additional Languages: Proficiency in German, French, Spanish, or Italian.
