📌 Role Overview

You will lead the compliance function for Coinbase Canada, overseeing regulatory relationships, maintaining a robust compliance program, and ensuring the company’s adherence to CIRO, OSC, and FINTRAC requirements. This role reports to the Head of Compliance, Americas.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Lead compliance efforts for Coinbase Canada’s CIRO Investment Dealer application
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Canadian Securities & Financial Crime regulations
• Act as primary liaison with regulators: OSC, CIRO, FINTRAC
• Provide regular updates to senior management and the Board of Directors
• Oversee execution of compliance risk assessments, policies, and controls
• Manage regulatory audits, examinations, and communications
• Lead and deliver compliance training to local teams
• Ensure timely remediation of issues from audits or regulatory reviews
• Integrate compliance into product and expansion initiatives

✅ Required Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in compliance, including leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Securities Law and AML/ATF Regulation
• Direct experience managing:
• Regulatory exams and license/registration processes
• Compliance programs across global or remote teams
• Strong relationships with OSC, CIRO, and FINTRAC
• Proficient in internal controls, risk frameworks, and policy development
• Passed the CSI Chief Compliance Officers Qualifying Examination
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership within regulated industries

💡 Nice to Have

• CAMS, ICA, or similar professional certification
• Experience in crypto, blockchain, or DeFi platforms
• Membership in a recognized compliance association
• Familiarity with emerging regulatory tech and automated compliance tools

💸 Compensation

Annual Salary: $237,000 CAD

(Plus bonus, equity, and full benefits package)
