As a Conservation Advocacy Communicator at AMC, I serve as the storytelling bridge between science, policy, and public action. This role centers on translating complex conservation issues—ranging from land management and climate action to river protection and outdoor equity—into compelling, people-centered narratives that educate, inspire, and mobilize a wide range of audiences.

Rooted in AMC’s mission to protect and connect people to the outdoors since 1876, this position calls for a blend of strategic communication, digital engagement, and environmental advocacy. The role directly supports AMC’s grassroots, regulatory, and legislative efforts across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, collaborating with research, policy, and media partners to champion science-backed, nonpartisan messages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and edit advocacy-focused content: blog posts, newsletters, fact sheets, social media, talking points, and more.
• Shape storytelling strategies to elevate AMC’s conservation priorities and five-year action plan, emphasizing impact, urgency, and community engagement.
• Translate environmental policy, research, and climate science into accessible and motivating content for both digital and print channels.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to amplify aligned messages across coalitions and campaigns.
• Drive audience engagement through AMC’s Conservation Action Network, building advocacy momentum through strategic calls to action.

What I Bring:

• Background in environmental journalism, conservation policy, or advocacy communications.
• Strong editorial and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate clearly across technical and layperson audiences.
