As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in driving high-impact engineering projects, developing statistical techniques to analyze data, and working side-by-side with software engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to create innovative solutions for our customers. This position involves collaborating with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to build scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Data Acquisition and Analysis: Acquire data necessary for project plans, use querying, visualization, and reporting techniques to describe and analyze data.
• Modeling Techniques: Choose appropriate modeling techniques, evaluate model performance, and incorporate customer feedback.
• Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends to contribute to thought leadership and best practices.
• Customer Focus: Understand customers' business goals and manage customer expectations for project progress.
• Code Development: Write efficient code for specific features and demonstrate expertise in debugging techniques.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineers, data scientists, and product managers) to create scalable, cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field, OR
• Master's Degree in a relevant field and 1+ years of data science experience, OR
• Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of data science experience, OR
• Equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of customer-facing, project-delivery experience or professional services/consulting experience.

Additional Qualifications:

• Doctorate and 1+ years of data science experience, OR
• Master's Degree and 3+ years data science experience, OR
• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Citizenship Requirement:

Due to the nature of the work, citizenship verification is required due to legal restrictions on working with certain government clients.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with managing structured and unstructured data.
• Strong ability to apply statistical techniques and report results effectively.
• Experience working on cloud-based solutions and AI.

Compensation:

• Base Pay Range (U.S.): USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year.
• San Francisco Bay Area/New York City: USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
