About the Role:

The CX Compliance team ensures Coinbase’s global operations meet regulatory standards while delivering a world-class customer experience. As a Senior EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting end-to-end customer investigations, supporting compliance with BSA/AML regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and productivity.

This role requires strong investigative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. It also requires an on-site presence at Coinbase’s Charlotte office and the flexibility to support 24/7 operations, including potential night and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct investigative reviews and analysis to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations and internal policies.
• Investigate automated transaction monitoring alerts, law enforcement requests, and internal referrals.
• Gather and analyze transaction activity, KYC information, and external data sources to assess customer behavior.
• Draft detailed investigative narratives and maintain thorough documentation for audit and regulatory review.
• Incorporate feedback from the Quality Assurance Team to continually improve investigation processes.
• Stay current with evolving regulatory requirements related to KYC, BSA/AML, and OFAC.
• Support audit and regulatory exam preparation as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in financial services, crypto, investigations, legal, or tech industries with a focus on EDD, KYC, compliance, or regulatory matters.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• High attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently.
• Flexible and adaptable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), CFCS, or CFE.
• Experience with tools like JIRA, Salesforce Service Cloud, and Hummingbird.
• Experience collaborating with outsourced vendors or external partners.
• Advanced degree in business, finance, or customer experience (CX).

Compensation and Benefits:

• Target Salary: $99,365 USD/year
• Plus: Target bonus, equity grants, full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k))
