Salary Range: $186,065 – $218,900 USD/year + bonus + equity + benefits

About the Role:

Coinbase is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Agent Productivity Tools (APT) team within its Enterprise Applications and Architecture division. This team builds secure, scalable tools that enhance customer service and compliance operations, driving efficiency for CX agents and supporting Coinbase’s mission to bring a billion users on-chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing engineering team to build customer service and compliance tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, and third-party vendors
• Guide architectural decisions and development of distributed systems
• Drive execution, quality, and innovation across the CX platform
• Mentor team members and manage career development
• Contribute to hiring and team growth
• Ensure systems are scalable, efficient, and user-focused
• Communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, 2+ years in engineering management
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
• Proficiency in Ruby or Go; familiarity with SQL/NoSQL, Kafka, gRPC, GraphQL
• Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
• Passion for crypto and building high-impact user experiences
