🧭 About the Platform Product Group

This group builds the core infrastructure, tools, and services that enable all Coinbase product teams to deliver features faster, more securely, and with a consistent user experience. Think of it as the scaffolding for scale and operational excellence.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building foundational platform services.
• Mentor and coach engineers, guiding their growth and impact.
• Translate vision into quarterly roadmaps in collaboration with product, design, and engineering leadership.
• Break down complex initiatives into iterative deliverables.
• Be a technical leader — reviewing architecture, ensuring quality engineering standards, and driving process improvements.
• Support distributed, multi-tenant system design and operations at scale.
• Partner with recruiting to hire top talent and align with Coinbase’s culture.
• Own the engineering team’s delivery and ensure engineering SLAs are met.

✅ Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years experience in engineering management.
• Proven experience with distributed systems and platform architecture.
• Strong sense of code quality and process best practices.
• Ability to prioritize and drive execution in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Hands-on attitude: able to contribute to code, lead incidents, and support teams on-call if needed.
• Belief in Coinbase’s mission to build an open financial system.

• Experience managing Developer Experience, Productivity, or Platform teams.
• Startup or hypergrowth environment experience.
• Experience with crypto/onchain technologies, such as:
• Using Ethereum wallets
• Using ENS
• Interacting with dApps or smart contracts

💬 Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $218K–$256.5K USD
• Plus: Target bonus, equity grants, full benefits (medical, dental, vision), 401(k), and more.
