Job Overview

Binance is looking for a Global Sanctions Advisory & Governance Lead to join its Sanctions Compliance team. This senior-level position requires a deep understanding of financial crime compliance (FCC), particularly sanctions and counter-financing terrorism (CTF) risks. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in managing complex compliance challenges, advising stakeholders, and leading cross-functional projects to ensure Binance navigates regulatory requirements effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Sanctions & CTF Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on sanctions and CTF risks, controls, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
• Compliance Monitoring & Testing: Develop and implement compliance monitoring and testing frameworks focused on sanctions and CTF risks
• Risk Assessment & Advisory: Evaluate compliance risks, offering advice on how to manage these risks across Binance’s global operations
• Internal Stakeholder Management: Work closely with stakeholders across Binance to provide actionable advice on managing sanctions and CTF risks, balancing competing priorities
• Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Stay ahead of regulatory developments affecting Binance globally and adjust internal processes accordingly
• Project Management: Lead projects related to sanctions and CTF compliance, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables
• External Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, and industry bodies, ensuring that Binance’s compliance efforts are recognized and effective
• Knowledge Sharing: Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives, fostering a culture of compliance across the business

Requirements

• Experience: 12+ years of experience in the financial crime compliance (FCC) or regulatory compliance domain
• Industry Expertise: At least 10+ years in a compliance/FCC monitoring and testing environment, particularly in banking and related financial services
• Education: University degree
• Certifications: ACAMS or ACFCS certification preferred
• Skills: Strong analytical and writing skills with sound judgment in decision-making
• Expertise: Deep understanding of FCC processes, technology, and global regulatory trends
• Project Management: Experience managing strategic initiatives and oversight of FCC operations
• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate regulatory challenges
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues in an understandable way
• Leadership: Natural authority with the ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate across teams
