Role Overview

As the Global Sanctions Advisory & Governance Lead at Binance, you will provide leadership in managing Sanctions & Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) risks across Binance’s global operations. This senior role demands deep expertise in financial crime compliance, the ability to assess and mitigate regulatory risks, and lead strategic initiatives to safeguard Binance’s activities and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Sanctions & CTF Risk Management: Lead compliance and governance efforts related to Sanctions & CTF risks, ensuring Binance operates within regulatory frameworks.
• Regulatory Compliance: Critically evaluate and manage processes to identify, assess, and address compliance risks, providing advice to internal stakeholders on managing Sanctions & CTF-related challenges.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams across Binance, providing actionable guidance on compliance and governance while balancing competing priorities.
• Risk Horizon Scanning: Keep track of global regulatory and internal developments, evaluating their potential impact on Binance’s operations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, auditors, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders to address and negotiate compliance matters.
• Project Leadership: Lead high-impact projects related to Sanctions & CTF compliance, ensuring quality deliverables are produced within set timelines and budgets.
• Industry Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal and industry-wide knowledge initiatives, sharing insights on evolving regulations and best practices for compliance.

Requirements

• 12+ years of proven experience in financial crime compliance (FCC), including a minimum of 10 years in compliance monitoring and testing environments.
• In-depth knowledge of banking business, compliance frameworks, and financial crime risk management.
• University degree, ACAMS or ACFCS certification preferred.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex compliance topics in a simple and understandable manner.
• Significant experience in strategic initiatives and providing FCC oversight at a senior level.
• Expertise in managing and negotiating with external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams while maintaining professional relationships.
• Pragmatic and energetic with a critical and innovative mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
