💰 Salary: $204K–$255K USD/year + bonus + equity

🔍 Role Overview

Udemy is seeking a seasoned tax leader to oversee global income tax functions and drive tax strategy, compliance, and reporting for its expanding international footprint. This role is highly strategic and cross-functional, with significant exposure to executive leadership and global operations.

🧠 Core Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of global income tax, including direct taxes, tax accounting, transfer pricing, and instructor withholding
• Lead tax strategy and planning, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks across jurisdictions
• Oversee preparation and review of global tax provision and SEC reporting
• Manage tax audits and maintain relationships with authorities
• Ensure compliance with U.S. withholding tax for instructor payments
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR, and external advisors on tax-related matters (e.g., M&A, equity comp, intercompany transactions)
• Implement scalable processes and technology to future-proof tax operations
• Act as a strategic advisor and educator to internal stakeholders

📌 Requirements

• 10+ years of tax experience, ideally a mix of public accounting + in-house roles
• Strong command of U.S. federal, international, and indirect tax laws
• Expertise in tax accounting (ASC 740)
• Experience in high-growth tech or digital services, especially with multinational structures
• Proven leadership and team-building skills
• Bonus: experience managing U.S. withholding tax on global instructor payments
