📌 Position: Lead, Technology Risk

💰 Salary Range: $193,970 – $228,200 USD + bonus, equity, benefits

🚀 Role Overview:

• Lead Coinbase’s Technology Risk & Controls team.
• Develop and mature technology & security risk management programs.
• Define, quantify, manage, and communicate technology risks to influence business decisions.
• Work closely with global technical teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
• Support regulatory audits and continuous monitoring efforts.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

• Enable risk-informed business outcomes via clear communication of risks and trade-offs.
• Manage risks through intake, triage, analysis, and treatment.
• Maintain and improve risk registers and tooling through automation and quality control.
• Iterate on risk programs using data analysis.
• Report on risk posture to leadership.
• Develop training and communication strategies for technology risk.
• Build and mentor a team of risk analysts.
• Align technology risk with enterprise risk management.
• Collaborate across Coinbase entities, products, legal, and compliance teams.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends.

✅ What Coinbase Looks For:

• 8+ years in risk management or GRC functions.
• Strong knowledge of risk frameworks (ISO 27001/5, NIST CSF, COBIT, ITIL, DORA, FAIR).
• Deep understanding of technology risk across IT domains.
• Experience with project management tools (Jira, Archer) and analytics.
• Clear, concise communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory/legal tech frameworks (US and international).
• Comfortable handling ambiguity and multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

🌟 Nice to Have:

• Experience in FinTech, traditional finance, consulting, or technical program management.
• Knowledge of emerging tech risks (crypto, cloud, machine learning).
• Certifications like CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM, FAIR (helpful but not required).
• Basic coding skills or interest in data integration and visualization.
• Beginner to intermediate knowledge of crypto/blockchain/web3.
