Job Title: Sales Manager, Cross-Platform Gaming (PC/Desktop & Console Advertisers)

Compensation: $320k - $400k OTE + equity + benefits
About Discord and the Role
Discord is a platform used by over 200 million people each month, with over 90% of users engaging in gaming. This role is focused on expanding advertising solutions within the gaming vertical, targeting cross-platform (PC/Desktop & Console) advertisers. The Sales Manager will lead a team of Account Executives and Account Managers, driving revenue growth and strategic partnerships in the gaming industry.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team (AEs and AMs).
- Foster a culture of collaboration, coaching, and professional growth.
- Set KPIs and optimize sales processes in partnership with the Director of Gaming Sales.
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Own revenue targets for the XP gaming sales team.
- Identify and expand new business opportunities while deepening existing client relationships.
- Support negotiations and closing of high-value deals.
- Guide team in executing upfronts and Joint Business Planning with strategic accounts.
Industry & Market Engagement:
- Actively participate in industry events and networking opportunities.
- Represent Discord’s ad solutions and value proposition externally.
- Provide insights on market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with Product, Marketing, and RevOps to align sales efforts with product capabilities.
- Offer feedback on ad solutions and customer needs to shape future advertising strategies.
- Collaborate with Marketing on go-to-market strategies, case studies, and success stories.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in digital advertising, media sales, or brand marketing.
- 3+ years in leadership roles (team lead, manager, or equivalent).
- Proven ability to meet/exceed revenue targets and implement sales strategies.
- Experience coaching sales teams with a focus on performance and growth.
- Deep knowledge of XP Gaming industry advertising and media buying.
- Strong senior-level client and agency relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Willingness to travel for industry events and client meetings.
