Job Overview:

The Payroll Specialist (Manager/Senior Specialist level) will oversee accurate and compliant payroll operations across multiple European countries. This role involves managing payroll vendors, coordinating with internal teams, and driving process improvements and payroll-related projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and manage payroll processes including overtime, leave, payments, and data approvals.
• Research and apply industry best practices to enhance payroll delivery.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll operations and ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Develop frameworks for payroll service delivery and employee support.
• Manage payroll vendors, including onboarding, performance, and termination.
• Lead key annual payroll events such as audits, bonus payments, and calendar planning.
• Participate in payroll transformation projects, including data clean-up and systems integration.
• Recommend improvements to payroll systems, tools, and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 6–10 years of experience in payroll operations, with strong knowledge of payroll practices across major European countries (UK, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, etc.).
• In-depth understanding of payroll taxes, compliance, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Leadership and vendor management experience is a plus.
