Role Overview

We are looking for a Java Engineer to join our KYC Tech Team under the Pioneer Talent Program. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend systems that handle Binance’s Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to ensure smooth onboarding for millions of users while meeting regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based services for Binance’s KYC platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Compliance Engineering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and improve KYC compliance features, integrating regulatory and security requirements.
• Technical Documentation: Write and maintain high-quality documentation for system architecture, technical processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Performance Optimization: Proactively engage in performance tuning, bug fixing, and optimizing code for high throughput and low latency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentorship & Learning: Collaborate with senior engineers and participate in mentoring junior developers, while receiving personalized guidance from industry leaders.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years professional experience in backend development, ideally in high-throughput distributed systems.
• Skills:
• Proficient in Java and the Spring Framework
• Familiar with MySQL and at least one NoSQL database (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Experience with distributed systems, message queues, and JVM performance tuning
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote teams across time zones.
• Learning Ability: Self-motivated and able to adapt quickly to new technologies and challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• KYC/AML/Compliance Tech Experience: Understanding of KYC or compliance-related systems is a strong advantage.
• Performance Tuning: Experience with performance optimization of JVM, SQL, and RPC is highly beneficial.
• Blockchain Knowledge: Familiarity with blockchain concepts is a plus but not required.
