Job Title: Principal Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the design and scaling of ZoomInfo’s AI-ready enterprise data platform, powering LLM chatbots, intelligent agents, and advanced analytics. Drive architecture, governance automation, and ensure high reliability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect AI-first enterprise data platform and Model Context Protocol (MCP) services
• Build and scale semantic layers, context fabrics, and MCP-driven tooling
• Automate governance, data quality, lineage, and policy-as-code enforcement
• Implement PII classification, redaction, and multi-tenant context scoping
• Ensure platform reliability, observability, performance, and cost-efficiency
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and ML/AI teams
• Lead innovation through proof-of-concepts (POCs)
• Establish Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and automated policy best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• 12+ years in large-scale data platform and distributed cloud system design
• 1+ year experience with LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), search or information retrieval
• Advanced SQL and cloud data warehouse expertise (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
• Strong Python programming and microservices experience
• Experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow) and data modeling (dbt)
• Expertise in batch/streaming systems (Kafka, Spark, Beam, Dataflow)
• Background in metadata systems and governance (data contracts, catalogs, OpenLineage)
• Infrastructure skills with Kubernetes, serverless, Terraform, CI/CD tools
• Knowledge of data security & privacy best practices (IAM, encryption, tenant isolation)
• Familiarity with lakehouse formats (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi)
• Experience with FinOps for AI (cost control, token budgeting, caching)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
