Role Overview
Coinbase is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead their privacy incident response program. This role involves managing both business-as-usual incident response work and the broader program management of the privacy incident response function. This individual will work across multiple teams (Legal, Engineering, Customer Support, Security Incident Response, Product) to respond to incidents and further mature the privacy incident response program.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Response: Handle privacy incidents by leading response efforts and managing communications across teams.
- Program Management: Manage the program budget, including contractors and full-time employees (FTEs). Train new hires and contractors on incident management and offer coaching to improve skills.
- Privacy Incident Awareness: Build awareness and visibility of the privacy incident response program across the organization.
- Incident Documentation: Create and maintain internal privacy policies, documentation, and reporting related to privacy incidents.
- Automation: Introduce automation in incident response processes, either by building the automation yourself or influencing other teams’ roadmaps.
- Metrics and Reporting: Establish metrics, reporting structure, and escalate trends in relevant forums.
- Support Privacy Initiatives: When incident volume is low, support additional privacy initiatives like privacy impact assessments and controls testing.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience:
- At least 2+ years of experience, with 1+ year in Privacy or Security.
- 1+ year of experience in incident response.
- Forensics and Data Analysis experience is crucial.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience handling technical investigations in cloud-native environments.
- Strong data analysis and programming skills, including proficiency with tools like SQL, Python, Postgres, MongoDB, Airflow, Looker, and Snowflake.
- Familiarity with the crypto industry is a plus.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Proven ability to build partnerships across product, engineering, legal, and business teams.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in high-pressure situations, and the ability to operate under stress.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in FinTech or the crypto space.
- Educational background: BA or BS in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications like CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or GCIH (Certified Incident Handler).
Compensation
- Pay Range: $135,320—$159,200 USD annually.
- Additional Benefits: Full-time offers from Coinbase include target bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
