💰 Salary Range: $156,000 – $175,500/year + equity + benefits

As a Public Policy Advisor on our Government Relations team, you'll support our engagement with policymakers, regulators, and civil society. This role reports directly to the Director of U.S. and Canada Public Policy.

🎯 Responsibilities

Introduce and educate policymakers and stakeholders on Discord’s mission, products, and investments in privacy and safety.
Advocate for Discord’s position on key legislative and regulatory issues, balancing direct advocacy with coalition work.
Represent Discord in policy coalitions and alliances with peer companies and NGOs.
Monitor and analyze policy developments in the U.S. and Canada.
Create policy materials—position papers, consultation responses, presentations, and talking points.
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Legal, Trust & Safety, and Communications.

✅ Qualifications

5+ years of experience in government, policy advocacy, or government relations.
Deep understanding of U.S. policymaking processes.
Strategic thinker capable of executing multi-year advocacy plans.
Experience in tech policy areas (e.g., online safety, privacy, cybersecurity).
Strong communication skills, especially when translating technical concepts for broad audiences.
Track record of building trust and consensus across diverse stakeholders.
Willingness to travel within the U.S. as needed.
