About the Role

As an Account Executive, you will join as a founding member of the sales team for our emerging Quests ads business line, focusing on mobile gaming. You'll be a key player in shaping Discord’s mobile advertising offering, working directly with game publishers and studios to build meaningful and measurable partnerships.

This is a zero-to-one opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited to build something new with one of the most passionate communities in tech and gaming.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Revenue Generation

• Drive new partnerships with game publishers, studios, and their media agencies.
• Prospect, pitch, negotiate, and close high-value deals.
• Establish repeatable revenue streams and grow Discord’s ads business from the ground up.

🔹 Internal Collaboration & Product Strategy

• Partner with product and sales teams to influence the ad product roadmap.
• Build and refine sales processes, contributing to the foundation of a scalable sales organization.

🔹 Client Engagement

• Develop strategic proposals tailored to client marketing needs.
• Build and nurture long-term, consultative relationships with senior decision-makers in the gaming sector.

🔹 Industry Thought Leadership

• Serve as a trusted expert in gaming, media, and advertising.
• Represent Discord at industry events and forums, strengthening the company’s presence in mobile gaming advertising.

Requirements

✅ Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of direct ad sales experience in the gaming industry, with proven success building new business from scratch.
• Track record of meeting/exceeding account and revenue goals.
• Established relationships with top decision-makers at game publishers and media agencies.
• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform campaign performance and optimizations.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally to influence product and process development.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.

Compensation Details

• On-Target Earnings (OTE): $272,000 – $306,000/year
