📌 Role Overview

Discord is hiring a Product Manager for its Core Product team, focused on the Messaging experience. In this role, you'll lead the product vision, strategy, and execution of messaging systems that power how people communicate on the platform. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, machine learning, and data science teams to build features that improve user engagement and make social communication seamless and fun.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the product roadmap for messaging on Discord
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build impactful messaging features
• Drive product decisions using data, experimentation, and user insights
• Partner with other product teams like Growth, Developer Ecosystem, and Revenue to align messaging with broader goals
• Own and monitor key metrics related to user engagement and feature performance
• Communicate priorities, updates, and results to stakeholders at all levels, including executives

🧠 Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping successful consumer products
• Strong data analysis skills, including ability to write SQL and use metrics for decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to work with technical teams on both infrastructure and user-facing features
• Experience with A/B testing and using experimentation frameworks to iterate on products
• Deep product sense for building features that support social behavior and group interactions
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and move fast with limited direction

⭐ Bonus Qualifications

• A technical background such as a Computer Science or Engineering degree
• Experience working on messaging, community, or social networking products
• Background in entrepreneurship or having built consumer applications from scratch
• A strong personal passion for Discord, gaming, and online communities
