Role Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist – Onchain Analytics, you will work at the intersection of data science, blockchain technology, and financial compliance. This role focuses on enhancing Binance’s ability to monitor, analyze, and interpret blockchain transactions to support anti-financial crime initiatives, compliance systems, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Financial Crime & Compliance teams to build data-driven solutions for AML and compliance operations.
• Develop and maintain machine learning models (especially for on-chain analytics), ensuring scalability and audit readiness.
• Translate statistical insights into actionable intelligence for operational and strategic decisions.
• Lead end-to-end development of data products, from proof-of-concept to production deployment.
• Perform QA testing, respond to audit requests, and implement improvements in compliance-related systems.
• Stay updated on cutting-edge AI/ML and blockchain research, applying new techniques to practical applications.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on data science experience, ideally in FinTech, blockchain, or cryptocurrency.
• Bachelor’s (or higher) in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering); PhD preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with AWS (or other cloud services) for deploying ML models.
• Solid understanding of onchain analytics, blockchain data structures, and crypto transaction behavior.
• Strong ability to manage both ad-hoc analysis and structured data product development.
• Fluent in English with the ability to read, interpret, and apply technical research from international conferences and journals.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AML/Compliance systems, fraud detection, or transaction monitoring tools.
• Background in designing real-time data pipelines and risk scoring models.
• Contributions to open-source data tools or blockchain research.
