About the Role

We’re seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead and scale technical efforts within Discord’s Consumer Revenue organization. In this highly impactful role, you'll design and execute the technical roadmap that supports current and future revenue streams. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Data Science, Design, and other engineers to deliver monetization initiatives that directly impact the company’s bottom line.

This is a hands-on, mission-critical engineering leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth, product-driven environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• 💸 Accelerate Revenue Growth – Lead development of features and infrastructure supporting key monetization strategies
• 🔧 Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with product, design, data, and go-to-market teams to align technical solutions with business outcomes
• 🧱 Technical Strategy & Architecture – Guide foundational decisions that enable scalable, maintainable, and innovative revenue products
• 🚀 From Inception to Launch – Drive large-scale projects end-to-end, from design to production rollout
• 🧠 Mentorship & Engineering Excellence – Raise the bar through code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical leadership

What You Bring

• 💼 7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in fast-paced, product-focused environments
• 🖥️ Full Stack Knowledge – Expertise in one or more of:
• Web (React, TypeScript)
• iOS (React Native, Swift, Objective-C)
• Android (React Native, Kotlin)
• Backend (Python, Elixir)
• ✅ End-to-End Product Ownership – You’ve led major features or systems from concept through launch at scale
• 🎨 Product & Design Sensibility – You care deeply about UX and collaborate closely with designers and PMs
• 🧩 Systems Thinking – Ability to evaluate long-term implications, design for scale, and solve from first principles
• 🔍 Bias Toward Impact – Comfortable navigating ambiguity, iterating rapidly, and driving results
