Research & Trading Associate – Asset Management

Blockstream, founded in 2014 by Dr. Adam Back and a team of cryptographers, is a leader in Bitcoin infrastructure. We drive innovation with solutions like the Liquid sidechain, Core Lightning, and secure wallet products like Green and Jade. Our mission is to enhance financial security, scalability, and efficiency through Bitcoin-based technology.

Our newly launched Asset Management Division aims to bridge Bitcoin and mainstream finance. We seek a Research & Trading Associate to conduct market analysis, execute trades, and optimize portfolio performance across centralized and decentralized platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze Bitcoin and digital asset markets, including on-chain metrics, order books, and macroeconomic factors.
• Develop and execute trading strategies (arbitrage, options, basis trading, etc.).
• Monitor and optimize borrow/lend rates with exchanges, custodians, and funds.
• Manage order execution, risk exposure, and trading infrastructure.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, including AML/KYC requirements.
• Generate reports on performance, risk, and market insights.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years in digital asset research/trading, ideally in a regulated fund.
• Strong network in banking, custody, exchanges, and OTC trading.
• Deep knowledge of Bitcoin, blockchain, and trading strategies.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• Institutional trading experience and professional certifications (CAIA, CFA, CMT, FRM) are a plus.

Location & Compensation:

• Hybrid role based in San Francisco Bay Area or London (2 office days/week).
• Salary: $100,000 - $150,000, plus bonus and benefits.
