About the Role

Crypto.com is hiring a Rust Engineer for a Greenfield project to join their team and work on developing new scalable applications. This role involves designing and developing components of the blockchain protocol, focusing on backend infrastructure, and working closely with DevOps teams. You will be part of a lean team tasked with building innovative, high-performance solutions in a fast-evolving crypto space.

Key Responsibilities

🛠️ Development & Architecture

• Design and develop blockchain protocols and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Participate in code reviews and implement the required functionality across the blockchain protocol.
• Propose solutions to complex problems, improving the blockchain ecosystem.

💡 Problem Solving & Innovation

• Identify and solve difficult issues within the blockchain protocol, focusing on scalability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with operations and infrastructure teams to create high-performance backend services.

📚 Documentation & Collaboration

• Manage documentation for all code and implemented functionalities.
• Work closely with DevOps and ecosystem engineers to optimize the tech stack and support long-term engineering goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on backend development (e.g., Rust, Go, Java, Erlang).
• Strong interest or experience with blockchain systems (previous experience with blockchain internals is welcomed, but not required).
• Experience with cryptographic primitives (e.g., digital signatures, key exchange, encryption).
• Understanding of distributed systems and consensus algorithms (such as Raft or PBFT).
• Familiarity or interest in using Rust and Go in the context of blockchain development.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage conflicting requirements.
• Self-starter who can define and execute tasks with minimal guidance and is open to learning and feedback.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively and embrace better ideas from others.
