🧠 About the Role

This is a policy-focused position embedded in Discord’s Product Policy team, specifically focused on:

• Third-party developer tools (APIs, SDKs)
• Trust & safety risks
• Helping shape how external developers interact with Discord’s platform

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Engineering, Design, Developer Relations, and Safety teams to design safe, responsible systems and enforce developer policy compliance.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate safety risks in Discord’s public API and developer ecosystem
• Own and update Developer Policies to guide acceptable third-party usage
• Act as a policy advisor on product changes that affect developer tools
• Support internal training and external education on safe product development
• Write clear, user-facing content: blog posts, Help Center articles, policy pages
• Interface with internal safety & compliance teams to align on enforcement readiness

✅ Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with APIs, SDKs, open source tools, app stores, or third-party developer ecosystems
• Background in trust & safety, product policy, or digital rights/social impact
• Comfortable working with product, legal, and engineering stakeholders
• Excellent communicator with a bias for empathy and curiosity
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Familiarity with Discord (as a user or developer)
• Experience in international policy or advocacy
• Multilingual fluency
• Basic programming knowledge (especially around APIs) is a plus but not required

💸 Compensation

• Base salary: $192K–$216K
• Plus: Equity + full benefits
• Final offer depends on experience, skills, and location.
