About the Job:

Discord, with over 200 million monthly users, plays an essential role in the gaming world. 90% of our users play video games, spending a collective 1.5 billion hours on the platform monthly. We’re looking to expand our reach as a premier marketing tool for gaming-aligned brands, and we need a Sales Manager to help us build and scale a new Advertising Solutions (Quests) business line. This senior-level individual contributor position is perfect for someone passionate about gaming and excited to help us grow our advertising division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate Revenue: Drive significant revenue growth across non-endemic categories such as CPG, Telco, Food & Beverage, Financial Services, and Sports Betting. Establish and deepen relationships with senior leaders at global brands, helping to fulfill their marketing needs through Discord’s platform.
• Internal Strategic Insights: Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Product and Product Marketing to co-develop new solutions and enhance our advertising offerings.
• External Thought Leadership: Represent Discord externally, sharing market insights, safeguarding user experience, and establishing yourself as a thought leader in gaming, media, and marketing.
• Influential Presentations: Create and deliver powerful sales presentations and proposals by leveraging internal and external data sources.
• Process Development: Work alongside the sales team to build scalable processes for repeatable and predictable business outcomes.

Requirements:

• Proven Experience: Over 8 years of experience in building $XX million in new business through direct sales with global brands in categories like CPG, Consumer Electronics, QSR, Retail, Tech, and Telecommunications.
• Client Relationship Management: Strong ability to influence senior leaders at global brands and agencies to launch new partnerships.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: Proactively anticipate client needs while safeguarding the end-user experience within the Discord platform.
• Sales Skills: Advanced data analysis for campaign performance, negotiating and structuring non-standard ad-buying agreements, forecasting, and outreach.
• Willingness to Travel: Ready to travel for regional in-person client meetings.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $320,000 - $380,000 OTE (base salary) + equity + benefits
• Salary Determination: Compensation within this range is based on job-related skills, experience, education, and training.
