Your Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join a dynamic 35-person engineering team (centered in Copenhagen) working on Public's advanced trading platform. You will design and build scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems, collaborating across teams to deliver seamless trading experiences for users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems and REST APIs using Java Spring Boot
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver new features
• Optimize the platform’s performance and scalability, ensuring robust trading experiences
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high code quality
• Stay current with industry trends and integrate best practices into development workflows

What We’re Looking For

• BA or MA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Strong experience with Java Spring Boot and backend development
• Experience with Java or .NET will also be considered
• Passion for problem-solving, innovation, and delivering great user experiences
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• (Bonus) Experience with financial markets or trading platforms
• Fluent in English
