Role Summary:

Canva is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of frontend engineers within the Editing Core group. This team is responsible for foundational architecture across Canva’s Editor, including real-time collaboration, offline editing, and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of ~10 engineers.
• Drive large-scale, cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Oversee architecture improvements and core frontend systems.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical growth.
• Collaborate with product and technical leads to align on goals.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of systems.

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong frontend or architectural expertise.
• Experience working on complex, scalable systems.
• Ability to influence product and technical strategy.
• Skilled in navigating ambiguity and cross-team collaboration.
