This Senior Engineering Manager role sits within Coinbase’s Platform Product Group, a strategic division building core infrastructure and services leveraged across all Coinbase products.

Your mission: lead teams that develop multi-tenant, distributed systems at scale, ensuring velocity, reliability, and compliance across Coinbase’s technical foundation.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

• Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams focused on shared services and infrastructure
• Coach engineers and managers, fostering growth, accountability, and impact
• Partner with design, product, and executive leadership to define and deliver quarterly roadmaps
• Guide architectural decisions and uphold engineering best practices
• Own hiring, mentoring, and retention of top technical talent
• Improve engineering quality through ownership of SLAs and operational excellence
• Serve as a technical and strategic leader during major incidents and decision-making processes

✅ Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering
• 5+ years in engineering leadership, including 2+ years managing other managers
• Hands-on experience with large-scale, distributed systems and multi-tenant platforms
• Proven ability to balance short-term execution with long-term architectural vision
• Willingness to engage hands-on (e.g., code reviews, on-call, incident response)
• Passion for building products that align with Coinbase’s mission of economic freedom and open finance
