About the Role

Discord is seeking a Senior Front-End Specialist focused on UI/UX & Animations to join their Ads team. In this role, you’ll lead the development of engaging and beautiful user interfaces across Discord’s web and mobile platforms. You will focus on creating polished and seamless experiences for Discord's next-generation ad products, working with React and/or React Native to build high-quality, impactful UIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Highly Polished UIs: Create user interfaces with smooth animations and delightful interactions, bringing design concepts to life.
• Front-End Excellence: Write clean, maintainable code in React and React Native, and adhere to best practices in performance and accessibility for UI components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to define the team’s vision and roadmap, ensuring seamless transitions between design and implementation.
• Project Ownership: Manage projects from start to finish, collaborating with PMs, designers, and stakeholders, and ensuring successful launches and maintenance.

What Discord is Looking For

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4+ years of front-end development experience building rich, user-centric applications for web and/or mobile.
• Expertise in React and/or React Native, with experience building complex applications.
• A strong focus on UI/UX design with a passion for delivering well-crafted interfaces and animations (experience with libraries like Reanimated is a plus).
• Performance & Accessibility: Knowledge of front-end optimizations and accessibility standards (like WCAG) to create fast, usable, and inclusive UIs.
• A portfolio of work showcasing UI examples (live demos, GitHub projects, etc.).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with design systems.
• Background in ad tech systems.
• Familiarity with experimentation and analysis.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Passion for Discord or online communities.
