The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Front-End Specialist (Ads) to help craft next-generation, user-forward advertising experiences across Discord’s web and mobile platforms. You'll bring elegant design and cutting-edge animation to life, helping to shape how ads are presented in a way that respects user experience and enhances value.

You’ll join a dynamic Product Engineering team and report to one of our engineering leaders. This is your opportunity to make a global impact through high-quality, intuitive UIs that millions will interact with daily.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build Polished UIs: Lead the development of seamless, interactive UI experiences with smooth animations and pixel-perfect design implementations.
• Leverage Front-End Expertise: Write maintainable, performant code in React and/or React Native, setting standards for accessibility and responsiveness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Marketing to define roadmaps, implement creative vision, and optimize user engagement.
• End-to-End Ownership: Drive the full lifecycle of features—from ideation and design to development, launch, and iteration.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of front-end development experience (web or mobile).
• Advanced proficiency in React and/or React Native—comfortable building complex applications with supporting libraries.
• Strong UI/UX sensibility—keen eye for design, interaction, and animation. Bonus if you’ve worked with Reanimated or similar animation libraries.
• Impact-driven mindset—you know how to balance innovation with user needs and business objectives.
• Portfolio required—examples that showcase your design and front-end development work (e.g., GitHub, personal site, live demos).
• Performance and Accessibility: Deep knowledge of performance optimizations and WCAG standards.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.

Bonus Points

• Experience with design systems.
• Familiarity with ad tech, experimentation frameworks, or open-source contributions.
• Passion for Discord and online communities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $196,000 – $220,500 (USD)
• Equity + Benefits included
• Compensation is based on role, experience, and qualifications.
