Role Overview:

Join HERE’s Foundation Engineering team to develop and maintain a real-time, AI/ML-driven traffic road closure detection system. This is a production-grade, big-data solution with high SLA demands. You’ll contribute across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems
• Work on real-time big data systems for road traffic closures
• Collaborate globally across teams
• Write clean, tested code using TDD
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and on-call support
• Drive architectural discussions and mentor peers

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS or related field
• 4+ years in backend software development
• Proficient in Java; experience with distributed systems
• Strong in algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Jira
• Experience with AWS (EMR, EC2, S3, Athena)

Nice-to-Haves:

• Scala, Big Data tools
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Machine learning experience
• Location-based services (maps, GPS)
