Senior / Lead Blockchain Protocol Engineer

About the Role

Join Crypto.com’s ventures team as a Senior/Lead Blockchain Protocol Engineer to help design, develop, and scale critical blockchain systems. You will be involved in building solutions from backend infrastructure to frontend UI, solving complex problems, and enhancing the blockchain protocol stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of blockchain protocol components
• Propose and implement architectural decisions across the blockchain ecosystem
• Identify and solve performance issues within the blockchain protocol
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to build high-performance backend services
• Document all code implementations and technical decisions
• Work with ecosystem engineers to improve the tech stack for long-term success

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with a strong focus on Go or Rust
• Hands-on experience with cryptographic primitives (e.g., digital signatures, key exchange, encryption)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and consensus algorithms (Raft, PBFT, etc.)
• A self-starter who can drive projects independently and tackle challenges with minimal guidance
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, able to juggle conflicting requirements
• Open-minded, eager to learn, and receptive to feedback
• Previous experience in blockchain systems internals is a plus, but not required

Nice-to-Have

• Contributions to open-source blockchain projects
• Research experience in cryptography or blockchain-related fields
• Experience with Cosmos SDK or Ethereum core development
• Hands-on experience with Golang or Rust
