Role Overview
ZoomInfo is hiring an experienced privacy law expert to act as its designated Data Protection Officer (DPO) in line with Article 37 of the GDPR. This role sits at the intersection of legal, privacy, and tech—providing leadership and hands-on support to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations (GDPR, UK DPA 2018, CCPA, etc.).
You’ll provide legal counsel across ZoomInfo’s global operations, guide risk assessments, liaise with supervisory authorities, and partner closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Data Protection Officer Duties
- Act as DPO for ZoomInfo and global affiliates (per GDPR Article 37)
- Monitor company-wide compliance with EU privacy laws
- Conduct and advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Handle communications and audits with supervisory authorities
- Manage data subject rights requests (e.g. access, erasure, portability)
- Advise leadership on privacy risk, compliance, and controls
Legal Advisory Duties
- Counsel product and engineering teams on privacy-by-design
- Draft and review data processing agreements, privacy policies, consent mechanisms
- Support international data transfers (including SCCs, adequacy decisions)
- Conduct privacy diligence on M&A and partnership opportunities
- Ensure compliance with AI governance frameworks and future regulation
- Guide internal teams on B2B marketing and adtech privacy implications
Qualifications
Required
- Law degree; admitted to practice in Ireland or another EU jurisdiction
- 8+ years legal experience, including 5+ in privacy/data protection
- Deep expertise in GDPR, UK DPA 2018, and other global data laws
- Familiarity with AI compliance and governance frameworks
- Experience in SaaS or tech environments
- Strong written/verbal English skills
- Proven experience advising on privacy in B2B marketing and adtech
Preferred
- Certifications: CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO
- Prior role as a designated DPO under GDPR
