We are looking for a Senior Manager, Procurement to drive strategic sourcing and procurement process improvements across all of Discord. This role is perfect for a seasoned procurement leader with deep experience in blockchain technology, smart contracts, web3 platforms, and crypto environments. You will be responsible for shaping procurement strategies, optimizing vendor relationships, and ensuring the company secures the best possible value from suppliers—whether for NFTs, cryptocurrency services, DeFi platforms, or traditional business needs. Your work will directly impact Discord’s operations and growth as we continue to evolve within both the gaming and crypto sectors.

As a senior leader in the procurement function, you will partner closely with Finance, Legal, and various business stakeholders to align procurement with Discord’s business goals. You will negotiate high-value contracts, enhance operational efficiencies, and leverage procurement technology solutions to drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Strategic Procurement Leadership

• Develop and implement strategic procurement strategies that align with Discord's business goals, focusing on cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier performance optimization.
• Partner with teams across the organization to drive procurement strategies that support key initiatives in web3, cryptocurrency, and DeFi platforms.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and focusing on team development within the procurement function.
• Cultivate an environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and continuous growth.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

• Work closely with key stakeholders across finance, legal, and operational teams to integrate procurement strategies into company-wide initiatives.
• Drive alignment between procurement goals and the broader business objectives, ensuring that Discord remains agile in an ever-evolving crypto and blockchain landscape.

Process & Workflow Design

• Design and implement streamlined procurement workflows that increase operational efficiency while maintaining strong governance and compliance standards.
• Lead continuous process improvement initiatives across procurement and collaborate with internal teams to simplify and automate procurement tasks.

Procurement Tooling & Automation

• Assess, implement, and optimize procurement technology solutions to improve efficiency, compliance, and spend visibility across the organization.
• Evaluate new technologies to ensure that Discord’s procurement processes are forward-looking, especially as we continue to embrace NFTs, blockchain, and smart contract solutions.

What You Should Have:

• 10+ years of procurement experience with a strong focus on software, professional services, and stakeholder management.
• Expertise in Cloud Infrastructure and a proven track record in negotiating high-value contracts with major technology vendors.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in managing procurement teams and driving success in high-growth, web3, or crypto environments.
• Strong background in procurement workflows and process design, particularly within fast-scaling tech or blockchain-based companies.
• Proven success in negotiating complex contracts and driving large-scale transformations, ideally within the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFT sectors.
• Exceptional financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to assess total cost of ownership (TCO) and supplier risk in the DeFi and crypto industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with procurement technology/tools that require high-level change management and influence to implement effectively.
• Background in building procurement functions from the ground up or leading a major transformation initiative within the crypto and blockchain space.
• Hands-on experience working with smart contracts, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and DeFi platforms.

Salary & Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $220,500 + equity + benefits. Please note that this reflects the base salary only and does not include equity or other benefits.
