The Role:

GoDaddy is seeking a Senior Security Engineer – Cloud to join our dynamic security team. This position plays a critical role in proactively identifying threats and building scalable infrastructure to support threat detection and response in cloud environments (AWS and Azure). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and threat intelligence, with a passion for training, developing tooling, and driving best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop training programs, documentation, and playbooks tailored to cloud threat detection and mitigation
• Design and implement security detections for emerging threats in AWS and Azure
• Collaborate with architects and engineers on the evaluation and deployment of security tools
• Lead proactive threat hunting efforts to detect anomalous behavior in systems and applications
• Build scalable operational tools and automate security processes where possible
• Create and maintain dashboards and metrics to track cloud security coverage and remediation
• Contribute to incident response plans and post-incident analysis

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security
• Proven expertise in AWS security applications and architecture
• Experience delivering technical training and developing cloud documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of CI/CD environments (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Familiarity with CSPM, CWPP, CNAPP cloud security tools
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator credentials
