Role Summary

Join Coinbase as a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of crypto-native infrastructure. You’ll design and develop high-scale backend services using Golang, lead architectural decisions, and help scale a globally distributed system supporting secure and real-time crypto products.

Key Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services and features using Golang
• Design systems to handle large-scale, low-latency, and high-availability requirements
• Lead architectural initiatives, service decomposition, and cloud infrastructure improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and leadership
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code
• Help set engineering standards and mentor junior developers

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development
• Proven expertise in building and maintaining production-grade services
• Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Deep experience writing high-quality, testable code
• Passionate about crypto, open financial systems, and emerging technologies

Nice to Have

• Experience with Golang, Ruby on Rails, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB
• Background in blockchain tech (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin)
• Led efforts in decomposing monoliths into microservices
• Built financial, security-focused, or high-reliability systems
• Worked in hyper-growth startups or scaling organizations
• Familiarity with growth experimentation and A/B testing infrastructure
