Role Overview

At Coinbase, you will design and build scalable backend systems powering the next generation of crypto financial products. Using Golang and modern cloud technologies, you’ll solve complex technical problems at the intersection of blockchain and web-scale applications, focusing on secure, real-time, low-latency services.

What You’ll Do

• Develop new backend services with Golang to meet critical business needs
• Architect scalable, maintainable systems and lead long-term technical vision
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and leadership
• Write clean, well-tested, high-quality code
• Contribute to roadmaps aligning product and technical strategies

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Expertise in building and maintaining production-grade services
• Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture
• Passionate about crypto and building open financial systems
• Proven ability to write high-quality, maintainable code

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with decomposing monoliths into microservices
• Blockchain knowledge (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
• Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB
• Background in financial, high-reliability, or security-sensitive systems
• Experience working in fast-growing startups or mid-size companies
